Matamata Primary School is located in the heart of the Waikato, a town overlooked by the Kaimai Ranges and surrounded by rivers that flow through rolling green hills. Here we have created a nurturing environment that enables our children to learn and prosper across all aspects of education and development. Our guiding principles centre on our motto ‘Endeavour, Achieve Excel – Tohenga, Taea, Tino Hira. Together with support of our community and engagement of whanau, we deliver a platform that inspires learning to help build and shape our future generations.

Please be advised that our Learning Conferences will be held on Wednesday 29 July between 8am - 5pm.
School will be closed for instruction on this day so our teachers can meet with parents/caregivers for quality uninterrupted time to discuss your child/ren's learning in a 15 minute timeslot. The Learning Conferences will be held in your child's classroom. Reports will be distrubuted and discussed with the parents at the time of the conference.
You can book your timeslot on Skool Loop on the Bookings tab button. Please choose your time carefully as you are unable to cancel these appointments once booked. If you are needing to change your interview time PLEASE contact the school office so this can be changed for you.
Kelly Club Matamata will be open for child care of this day if you require care for your children.
If your child has a Calf Club cup/trophy from last year, please return it cleaned to Mrs Harland in Room 13 by Friday, 31 July.
If you know of any previous students or families who may still have a trophy, please help us by spreading the word so all trophies can be returned in time for this year's Calf Club.
Thank you for your support!
We’re getting ready for Calf Club season, and kid goats and lambs will soon be available from farms!
If your child would like to rear a goat or lamb this year, get in touch with the farmers below. It’s a great way to learn responsibility, animal care, and have fun.
Interested in becoming a judge?
We’re always looking for keen people to learn. No experience needed—training and support are provided.
See the information below for details on rearing animals and learning to judge. Feel free to share this post with anyone who may be interested.
Thanks
Aimee Harland
