A Visit from Author, Pauline McLeod

Avatar

We were very fortunate to have Pauline McLeod visit each class talking about and sharing her book ‘Sir Port’.

‘Sir Port’ is about growing strength around mental health. The book has been sponsored through the Rural Support Trust’ and has an emphasis on supporting our rural communities, however the message can be applied to anyone.

There was discussion around how we react when faced with problems, how we control our emotions.  Looking at being positive when faced with adversity became a strong message.  What gives us a jolt of joy? What makes you happy?  A suggestion for the students was to create a ‘Joy Jar’ where they can put all the things that bring them happiness and joy.  Their own personal jar to go to that will pick themselves up.
